Started a career in NHS in Public Health and Primary Care, moving into Commissioning and Performance Improvement in 2000.

Gail has had various commissioning and locality management roles before moving into specialised services in 2010. She led a number of clinical programme reconfigurations including the Safe & Sustainable Review of Paediatric Cardiac Surgery.

Following the role in Specialised Commissioning, West Midlands commissioning director for West Midlands Ambulance Service, introducing NHS 111 into operation.

Secondment in Oxford to develop STP commissioning infrastructure leading to the first really integrated provider of mental health services in BOB STP.

Director of Commissioning and Contracting in Shropshire for 4 years before moving to her current role in a newly formed ICB, leading a Place, with system-level responsibility for delegation of specialised services, LTC, Elective and Diagnostics and Mental Health.
