In this 60-minute masterclass, Professor Panos Kanavos from the London School of Economics will explore how healthcare systems can better identify, prioritise and treat patients who stand to benefit most from secondary prevention interventions.

Using a real-world case study drawn upon publicly available data from a number of European countries, this session will examine how population health tools and integrated care pathways can significantly improve the lifetime benefits from the optimisation of secondary prevention and save on valuable resources in healthcare systems.

Panos will demonstrate how intervening at primary care level requires a population health mindset – one that moves beyond individual prescribing decisions and instead focuses on systematic identification, risk stratification and pathway optimisation in order to optimise health outcomes among European patients.
