Paul is a highly experienced leader with exceptional UK NHS and industry insight and proven commercial acumen. He’s passionate about accelerating NHS transformation to improve population health. His innovative, collaborative, customer-focused approach engages people of all backgrounds and seniority, inspiring the creation of more sustainable, equitable services improving access to care, better outcomes and optimal use of NHS resources.

His journey started as a graduate trainee with GSK where he learned his craft in several UK pharma roles in sales, training, management, market access and marketing. A short spell in Dispensing Doctor land focused Paul’s commercial insight.

Since 2001 Paul’s worked agency side, first in his own business as MD of the Healthcare Partnership, where he learned so much about developing a startup and the value of building partnerships with the NHS, brokerage and improving access for pharma and medtech companies struggling to engage meaningfully with customers.

It’s also where Paul found a passion as a patient leader, firstly as a Community Director on the board of an innovative Practice Based Commissioning CIC. His deep NHS insight attracted other NHS organisations to have Paul on their boards thereafter.

When NHiS Ltd absorbed Healthcare Partnership in 2011, Paul became their Director of NHS Insight. This helped NHiS develop a reputation for being an expert on the NHS, improving outcomes from insight. Within 2 years, Wilmington PLC acquired NHiS to boost their UK healthcare business.

For 10 years, Paul was Director of NHS Insight at Wilmington Healthcare, working with big Pharma and Medtech UK affiliates to support their NHS insight, to accelerate their market access. He developed and led the Regional NHS Network events franchise which held 150 multidisciplinary events for commissioners and providers, plus industry, attended by over 5000 delegates over 10 years.

Paul developed and led Wilmington’s Thought Leadership practice, raising the profile with clients as the agency that truly understand the UK NHS best.

Paul then joined the Wilmington Healthcare Consultancy team as a Principal Consultant in October 2022-June 2023, providing NHS partnership working opportunities, pathway optimisation, insight reports, NHS insight workshops, advisory boards, Roundtable events and lead on Thought Leadership and NHS Insight.
