Richard Harmer is the Co-Chair of EMIG, where he plays a key leadership role in representing and guiding the life sciences sector within the UK. With over 25 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and healthcare, Richard’s extensive knowledge and strategic insights support EMIG’s mission to influence policy, foster innovation, and promote collaboration across the industry.
Before joining EMIG, Richard was the Culture Change Projects and DE&I Lead at Sanofi, where he worked alongside global DE&I leaders to create inclusive strategies that empowered employees to thrive. His broad career includes senior roles such as Diabetes Area Business Manager and NHS Outcomes Manager, with experience across leading pharmaceutical companies like AstraZeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Takeda.
Richard began his career with the UK Department of Health, giving him a deep understanding of healthcare management, performance improvement, and market access strategies, all of which inform his current work at EMIG.
