Peter Smith has worked in procurement for… let’s just say, “many years.” His career spans roles as a Buyer, Manager, Procurement Director/CPO, CIPS President, consultant, advisor, and educator. More recently, he has established himself as a writer, analyst, and commentator in the world of procurement.
He led the Spend Matters Europe website for eight years and has authored four published books, including Bad Buying, the first-ever procurement book published by Penguin. Currently, his focus is on the “Procurement with Purpose” agenda, which is also the subject of his latest book. In addition to writing, he continues to engage in consulting, speaking, and non-executive roles.
Beyond procurement, Peter is also working on improving his cycling, bass guitar skills, and cooking.
