Julie Oliver

Chair, Primary Care Women's Health Forum Community Interest Company

Julie Oliver has always had a keen interest in women’s health since her days as a medical student. She loved her obstetric attachment and initially pursued a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. However, she soon realized she needed uninterrupted sleep and transitioned into GP training. Despite this change, her passion for women’s health remained strong, leading her to obtain the FSRH diploma, learn to fit coils and implants, and pass the DRCOG.

While working as a GP in Durham, Julie developed a love for training. She pursued a Bradford Postgraduate diploma in Women’s Health and became an FSRH trainer. It was during this time that she crossed paths with Dr. Anne Connelly MBE, and together, they established the PCWHF/S to network with other GPs specializing in women’s health.

Julie also founded her own business, Durham Gynae, through which she delivers NHS commissioned clinics and training. She has mastered gynae ultrasound scanning and received advanced menopause training.

In her spare time, Julie enjoys great fiction and traveling the world.
