In 2018 Julia was working in private industry for a global communications agency (who had acquired her informatics agency, Harvey Walsh Ltd), creating digital tools for the NHS, funded by commercial companies from the Life Science Industries. Having spent so many years wondering why it was so difficult to access the real-world data she needed to create the business cases that the NHS was asking her for, Julia decided to join the NHS to help build more productive relationships between innovators and the public sector.
Julia has a particular passion for using real-world data to create solutions and partnerships to promote early diagnosis, prevent health needs from escalating and tackle health inequalities – having lost a close family member who suffered from a late diagnosis of cancer, Julia is determined to make a difference in this area in her memory.
