Joanne Monck passionately raises awareness of the issues faced by the transgender community on a daily basis. She didn’t transition until the age of 58, but through her commitment to supporting the community, for the last 10 years she has won three awards, including an OBE for services to transgender equality as a global LGBT advocate and independent adviser in the 2021 New Year Honours list.
She is an independent schools role model and an independent adviser to Sussex Police and the Crown Prosecution Service. She is also an ambassador for four national organisations, a national diversity mentor and speaks all over the UK and Europe.
Joanne has appeared several times on television and is a global Pride inclusion advocate. She is director of global education and EDI for BelieveGlobalCIC and head of EDI for the Believe Foundation, a unique domestic abuse support charity.
