Emma McKee is a Value & Access Manager at AstraZeneca UK, responsible for developing and delivering market access strategies across several oncology medicines. In her role, Emma manages Health Technology Assessment (HTA) submissions to the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC).
With a keen interest in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance efficiencies, Emma has been actively involved in a recent AI pilot project with NICE, utilising natural language processing (NLP) for a systematic literature review (SLR) update. Her hands-on experience in integrating AI within HTA offers a practical perspective on the benefits and risks of this technology, as well as future directions.
Emma graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2015 with a medical degree (MBChB) and a degree in Health Care Ethics and Law (BMedSc) and has a background as an NHS doctor.
